Some tips for booking hotels or renting
apartments in Buenos Aires:
We suggest that you plan
your arrival to Buenos Aires at least one day before the beginning of our
seminar.
All of the hotels in our
list have been visited by Aída Pierini (you will meet her when you arrive), our
onsite consultant in Buenos Aires. All of them are in the area where we will
meet on Monday-Tuesday-Thursday, namely, UMET Universidad Metropolitana para la
Educación y el Trabajo, a new university in a new and comfortable building.
UMET is located on Sarmiento 2037, downton Buenos Aires.

around or at least at a walking distance from UMET.
We suggest you try to stay
around UMET, not too far, at least at a walking distance; please have in mind
that this year Argentina is under election campaigns, and we expect to have
some difficulties for transportation in the city.
Make your reservations as
early as possible: remember that during June-July students have Winter
Vacations and most of the hotels and apartments in Buenos Aires have been
booked a long time in advance.
If you are planning to
share hotel or apartment with another participant to our Seminar, let us know
and we can provide their email. However, in the near futureyou will be notified
about participants’ names and expertise.
One important tip: when you
make any cash transaction in dollars in Argentina, especially if it is a big
amount, try to make the list with the number on the bills. It may happen that
they tell you later that one of the bills was false; it will not happen with
Isabel, but anyway you must be careful. When you rent an apartment you will be
required to make a deposit, usually the same amount of the rent and a fee. It
is a good idea to suggest Isabel or whoever is in the transaction that you want
the same bills you have given her for you deposit.
Remember that many
restaurants and cafeterias in Buenos Aires are not currently accepting credit
cards.
